At Bemas, we’re proud to be able to call ourselves third-generation earthmovers. The hard work and integrity of our predecessors have determined our course through the years to become a leader in the heavy civil construction world. As we position ourselves for even more growth, we keep our guiding principles—integrity and hard work—close at hand.
Rather than sitting at a desk, Bemas’ founder Larry Ames can usually be found traveling from job site to job site with a shovel in his pickup. He’s more comfortable on the field than in an office, having come up alongside his father at Ames Construction.
In 1995, after completing several successful projects with Ames, including managing concrete and over 35 million cubic yards of excavation for the Denver International Airport, Larry decided to go out on his own—and Bemas Construction was born.
Bemas began as a residential grading contractor, and remains focused on grading and excavation services in the greater Rocky Mountain area. Today, we also work in commercial and industrial, drainage, mining and reclamation, and transportation. Through our founder’s love of dirt and his hands-on example, we have carved out a reputation as one of the most trusted excavation companies in Colorado.
While our history as ethical Colorado earthmovers will always guide us, we are especially excited about the future of construction. We continue to evolve for the generations coming into the industry, as well as the changes in our nation’s infrastructure.
By investing in our people, we’re investing in the future. We support our people with a world-class benefits package; by promoting from within; and by always showing respect to everyone we encounter.
Hard work and integrity may be the bedrock of how we do business, but our people and communities are the reason why. Check out our website to learn more about Bemas.
