Our Story + Values

More Than Reliable Earthwork

After 30 years of working for his father at Ames Construction, Larry Ames set off on his own in 1995 to start Bemas Construction. Starting out with limited resources pushed Larry to take chances, learn new skills, and grow Bemas into a company that delivers the highest quality work and service. Over the years, we have built a team of hard-working people that understand the unique challenges of earthwork, our commitment to quality, and the importance of taking pride in their work.

Bemas consistently delivers for our partners by committing to and living out our values every day. Through honest communication and integrity, we build meaningful projects and relationships that leave a lasting impact on the communities around us. We have built a reputation as one of the best earthmovers in town - and throughout the region, stretching across markets from residential mass excavation to transportation and stormwater control. Regardless of the project, we don’t think of Bemas as just another contractor, but as a partner for long term solutions.
  • Lead by Example

Our people lead by example every day. When we each display the standards expected of one another, we all succeed.
  • Big Picture Focus

Our team understands the impact they make and the importance of focusing on the bigger picture of our projects and company.
  • Listen - Debate - Execute

Respect is everything. We pride ourselves on our ability to listen to our employees, debate ideas and opinions, and execute a plan of action that works.
  • Build from Within

There is always an opportunity to grow at Bemas and we want to build our team from within. Through hard work and integrity, we want our employees to grow.
  • Operate with Integrity

Honesty, integrity, and ethics are important to us. Regardless of the challenges we face, we strive to do the best job we can without sacrificing our values or ethics.
