Expert Stormwater and Drainage Control

Storm drainage and runoff control is one of the most important steps in the development of heavy civil construction sites. Improper storm drainage not only has the potential to damage and destroy structures built on top of developed sites, it can also have a negative impact on nearby ecosystems and natural habitats. To reduce potential damage in both areas, Bemas Construction offers high-quality construction services for storm and drainage systems. Our teams work closely with project design teams, regulatory agencies, and environmental specialists to construct effective storm systems that protect our clients’ investments and preserve surrounding natural environments.

Capabilities for Multiple System Types

Bemas Construction has constructed hundreds of storm systems throughout our nearly three-decade history of serving clients in Colorado. We’ve encountered just about every variety of drainage and stormwater system used in contemporary site design, and we continue to draw on our experience to create high functioning and effective systems.

Installation Of A Stormwater Structure
Leveraging the expertise of our survey teams, we accurately lay out designated areas, enabling seamless installation of essential pipe components by skilled subcontractors.

Channel Excavation

We specialize in precise channel excavation, shaping waterways to optimize flow and prevent flooding. Our team uses advanced techniques to create well-defined channels that effectively manage water distribution to promote sustainable and resilient infrastructure.

Dewatering

Bemas Construction routinely implements effective dewatering solutions to ensure dry and workable project sites. Using state-of-the-art equipment, we mitigate water-related challenges to allow construction projects to progress smoothly and remain on schedule.

Box Culvert Construction

Bemas Construction has decades of experience in constructing durable and reliable box culverts. Through careful planning and construction, we provide solutions that effectively manage water flow and contribute to the long-term durability of our projects.

Drop Structures—Boulders

Our skilled team constructs drop structures using boulders to prevent erosion. We integrate natural materials seamlessly into the project design, creating structures that fulfill their purpose and blend well with the surroundings.

Drop Structures—Concrete

We also construct drop structures using premium concrete materials for long-lasting, precisely measured performance. Our concrete drop structures manage water flow effectively and offer reliable erosion control.

RipRap—Channels/Slope Protection

Bemas Construction provides essential protection for channels and slopes against erosion using locally sourced RipRap material. Our experienced operators carefully select and place each stone for the highest levels of effectiveness against mother nature.

Detention & Retention

We routinely implement the use of temporary detention ponds to control stormwater during construction, and also construct permanent retention ponds as specified by project designs.

Precision to Meet All Regulations

Construction and grading for storm systems often involves strict guidelines by regulatory agencies that work to protect the environment and surrounding land areas. We welcome all input from these important stakeholders, and work collaboratively with engineers and designers to ensure that all standards are met.

Our ability to construct storm systems within strict specifications is directly tied to the expertise of our equipment operators and survey teams. Their precision and dedication are what set Bemas Construction apart as a storm system expert in the Colorado region.

Frequently Asked Questions About Storm Systems

  • Does Bemas Construction self-perform storm system utilities?

No, we do not typically self-perform installation of underground storm systems or utility components, nor do we employ full-time pipe crews for our projects. We have subcontracted pipe crews on occasions when we’ve served as a general contractor for full site delivery.
  • Is Bemas Construction experienced in non-traditional or decorative drain installation?

Yes, we’ve had the opportunity to work on several projects featuring unique drain systems and non-traditional runoff designs. Our Legacy Ridge Drainageway project involved grading for a tiered concrete drainage structure that required the highest level of precision.
  • Has Bemas Construction worked on any water storage facility projects?

Yes, our teams have prepared sites for the construction of water treatment and storage facilities on multiple occasions, including the Dominion High Zone Tank. Tolerances for the site of the tank were extremely high, requiring large quantities of support material to be laid.
