Young Larry Ames, Standing Beside Ames Truck

Starting a Legacy

1984

In 1984, Larry Ames moved to Denver, Colorado to work for his father and mentor, Dick Ames, at Ames Construction. It was here that Larry learned the ins-and-outs of running a construction company and developed the family values that became the basis of his own company.

Expansion and Growth

2000s

Originally emphasizing residential grading and over-excavation, Bemas began expanding its list of capabilities. We slowly added services such as commercial earthwork, overburden removal, heavy highway, stormwater control, and landfill construction to our portfolio.

Re-branding and Future Outlook

Today

Today, Bemas is still the hard-working full-service earthwork company we started as. Only now, we’ve decided to rebrand ourselves to really let the construction world know who we are. As we look towards the future, we want people to think of us as the best earthworkers in the region, but with the same family-oriented attitude that was ingrained in Bemas decades ago.
