Overview

In May 2020, Bemas started the Looking Glass project in Parker, CO. The Hess Ranch Metro District selected Bemas to perform the residential project as the general contractor.

Bemas is constructing an arterial roadway in a newly built subdivision. During this project, we are self-performing overlot grading, overexcavation, subgrade preparation, and aggregate base placement. As the general contractor on the project, we coordinate several subcontractors for services such as concrete and asphalt paving, concrete flatwork, wet utilities, line striping, and traffic signals.

Challenges

Our biggest challenges have been communication, scheduling, and logistics. With other contractors working on a bridge and drainageway on the same subdivision, these three factors are key to keeping the project on track.

Additionally, we worked around active utilities that conflicted with the new roadway design.

The Final Result

With the project still active, we look forward to seeing the final results of this project. So far, the Looking Glass project has led to several additional contracts for lot overexcavation for multiple home builders within the subdivision and we are grateful for the new opportunities emerging from our hard work.
